R U OK? Day - Start The Conversation

R U OK? Day is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life's ups and downs.

It is a day to inspire and remind people to meaningfully connect with those around them and start a conversation with the connections we feel may be struggling.

After almost three years of navigating the impacts of Covid 19, we in the home health, support and services sector need to support each other and check in. Everyone working in this sector makes magic happen by supporting the most vulnerable in our community everyday - but it can place a strain on those committed to the vocation of delivering support.

At The Lookout Way, we understand these are difficult and unsettling times. We take our role in the empowering home support and services sector incredibly seriously.

Our technology is the only technology built by care, for care. It is our mission to help as many families as we can in these times of stress and concern.

R U Ok Day is just one day but we hope as a sector we can come together to provide the support and vision needed to help through these difficult times.

How can you help?

The most simple and easy thing to do is start a conversation. You don’t need to be an expert to reach out – just a good friend and a good listener. It can be face to face if your able to, but it can be over the phone or using technology such as Zoom or Facetime. Or even just dropping a quick text message or email.

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life.

  1. Ask R U Ok?
  2. Listen
  3. Encourage action
  4. Check in
