Certified and Ready: Lookout Powers the Future of Aged Care Reform

A major milestone in preparing providers for the Support at Home reforms

Lookout is proud to announce the successful integration with Services Australia’s APIs, marking a major milestone in preparing providers for the Support at Home reforms.

This achievement confirms that Lookout meets Services Australia’s standards for secure, automated data exchange; enabling providers to seamlessly sync client contribution, budget, and funding source data between Lookout and government systems.

For our customers, it represents a significant step towards a simpler, more connected way to deliver home care.

A seamless connection for home care providers.

The new integration establishes a direct, secure link between Lookout and Services Australia, ensuring data flows automatically and accurately every day.

For our providers, this means:

  • Less manual work and reduced administration
  • More accurate budgets, claims and balances synced with Services Australia
  • Real-time visibility across government, provider-held, and client contribution data
  • Support at Home readiness built into everyday workflows
  • More time to focus on client outcomes, not administration

Two weeks post November 1, we’re proud to mark this milestone a success with:

  • ~99% of memberships have had their client contribution, budget, and funding source data synced
  • 60,000+ visits have been checked in with rate variants and claim codes
  • 200,000+ minutes of care management has been recorded
  • Client data in Lookout automatically syncing with Services Australia APIs each day at approximately 2:00 AM (AEST). The platform displays the most recent sync timestamp to indicate when data was last refreshed.

“Now that we have real-world production experience with the PRODA Aged Care APIs that came online 1 November, we will look to further optimise the performance and robustness of the bulk syncing operation,” said Brett Barry, Lead Product Manager, The Lookout Way.

Throughout November, Lookout is partnering with Services Australia to conduct end-to-end testing of the Support at Home claiming process, including file upload and payment processing. This is an excellent opportunity, as it provides Lookout with the chance to work closely with Services Australia to test and iterate on the claiming process, building confidence ahead of the first claim in December.

Lookout is also working directly with Services Australia to monitor specific customer accounts and resolve any configuration errors identified during the initial rollout.

Building a connected foundation for the future

The integration reflects months of engineering and compliance work to deliver a stable, scalable, and standards-based connection through Services Australia’s PRODA APIs.

Lookout customers can view the most recent sync time directly within the platform, run a “Test Integration” check from Settings → Integrations, and even trigger manual refreshes for individual memberships if needed.

“Our focus has always been to make aged care simpler and more transparent for providers,” said Brett Barry, Lead Product Manager, The Lookout Way. “This milestone shows what’s possible when we combine smart software with secure, automated government connectivity.”

Technology that supports, not slows, care

As the aged care sector transitions to Support at Home, integrations like this one give providers confidence that their data - from client contributions to budgets and claims to stay accurate and compliant, without extra effort.

“Every improvement we make is about freeing providers to spend more time on what matters most: care,” said Tate Johnson, CTO, The Lookout Way. “With this integration, Lookout continues to lead the way in modernising how in-home aged care operates.”
